The University of California employs Symplectic Elements to produce the UC Publication Management System. The UC Publication Management System enables UC researchers to manage their publications, participate in the UC Open Access Policy, and increase the impact of their work. Symplectic Elements scans selected resources on the web (e.g., abstract and indexing) for publications UC faculty, non-senate researchers, lecturers, post-doctoral scholars, administrative staff, librarians, and graduate students have authored. Authors log in to Symplectic Elements and can claim their publications and reject those that are not. UC researchers can upload their manuscript for public display on eScholarship. Digital Initiatives and Information Technology (DIIT) can access the admin console of Symplectic Elements for the UCLA instance of the Publication Management System in order to obtain UCLA related usage reports. |
